Overview

Bold Fitness needed one system for memberships, classes, payments and door access instead of spreadsheets and cash books. BoldGym has run the gym's operations for months.

What I built

  • Designed and built the whole product, from data model to deployment.
  • Owner, admin and instructor dashboards with revenue reporting and PDF exports.
  • Class scheduling with capacity limits, walk-ins, personal-training logs and equipment tracking.
  • QR membership passes checked at the gate against an access whitelist.

Architecture

  • React and Vite frontend on an Express 5 API with MongoDB.
  • Paystack payments verified through signed webhooks.
  • Scheduled jobs handle membership expiry, pause and resume, class reminders and inactivity follow-ups by email and SMS.

Key decisions

One install per gym

Each gym gets its own deployment and database, which keeps member data separated and the system simple to run for a single business.

Results

  • In daily use by Bold Fitness at boldfitnessgh.com.
